Coach
Isaac Owens graduated from Huntington Beach High School in 1988 where
he played volleyball for four years. During two of his varsity years he played on CIF play-off teams.
Upon
his graduation, Isaac returned to Huntington Beach to coach
JV and assist the Varsity teams from 1989 to 1999, helping HB go to CIF finals three years in a row, winning back-to-back
championships in 1994 and 1995. He has 16 years of club coaching experience.
Isaac
completed his Bachelor's Degree in History at Cal State Fullerton and is beginning his seventh year at Esperanza as a Social
Science teacher.

highlights:
2002 – led the men's volleyball team to a CIF Division 1
Championship; - named 2002 CIF Coach of the Year from the Orange County Register
and the L.A. Times.
2007 – led the men's volleyball team to their second CIF
DIvision 1 Championship. This team was recognized by Student Sports as the number one men's volleyball team in
the state and by Volleyball Magazine as the men's high school team of the year. Named
2007 CIF Coach of the Year and the Orange County
Register Coach of the Year.
2009 - men’s
volleyball awarded quarter-finalists in the CIF Division 1 Championship and ranked 24th in the country by
ESPN Rise.
